Well, it’s that time of the year again. SuiteWorld 2015 is upon us. Thousands of people have streamed into San Jose for NetSuite’ annual conference dedicated to customers, partners and developers. This year’s event is going to be a blast with new announcements being made during the keynote sessions, all the go-to products and partners at the expo, and of course the nightly entertainment such as the much anticipated SuiteWorld Gala.
Though I imagine if you are reading this post, you are probably not in San Jose soaking up the sun and NetSuite knowledge. Not to fret, there is always next year!
If you need to convince your higher ups that SuiteWorld is a valuable business trip, I’ve compiled a few reasons as to why every NetSuite user, admin or person evaluating the solution should be at SuiteWorld.
1. Be the first to know – keynote sessions
Usually one of the more anticipated aspects of SuiteWorld, the three keynote sessions gives event attendees, including media representatives, a first hand look into new features, exciting announcements and a highlight of some of the year’s most notable NetSuite customers. Each of the three main days start off with a bang with presentations by Zach Nelson, Evan Goldberg and Jim McGeever.
2. Networking
The convention center floor is constantly abuzz with long time friends and first time business acquaintances chatting away. From the early risers making their way down to grab breakfast to those mingling with coffee between breakout sessions, there are thousands of useful conversations going on. Want to make the best use of your jam packed 4 days? be sure to plan ahead and schedule meetings. Though for your own sanity and to make sure you can have ad hoc encounters, do leave some free time!
3. Find information about new products or Solution Providers
The SuiteWorld Expo is your place to get some face time with those product or solution providers you’ve been itching to find out more about. A variety of companies are represented from the Titanium sponsors such as Accenture, product providers such as Nexonia or SPS Commerce and of course, Big Bang ERP is there, answering any and all questions you may have about our consulting services.
4. Sweets
Who doesn’t love candy?!? Each year I am amazed at all the delicious treats available to attendees of the event. Relax in the SuiteLife Lounge in between meetings or breakout sessions and nibble on some tasty treats.
5. Break out sessions galore
I have attended SuiteWorld for a good number of years now and I must say that the number and breadth of breakout sessions has grown tremendously. I particularly like the inclusion of real life NetSuite customers getting up and speaking about how NetSuite solved a particular business problem or how a creative script was written to kick the system up a notch. It is a good idea to register early for the session or the ones you are interested in may fill up. Oh and for those at SuiteWorld 2015, Big Bang ERP is presenting on Wed May 6th at 2pm, (I know a shameful plug for our what will surely be a great presentation about Dashboards for SCM)
6. It doesn’t stop at 5pm
While the expo floor and breakout sessions do run from breakfast through to 5pm, the fun and learning definitely doesn’t stop there. Aside from the SUITEfest, the SuiteWorld Gala, held on the Wednesday night, which this year features performances from Capital Cities, Nico & Vinz, there are a plethora of other things to occupy your evenings. There are usually a couple noteworthy sponsor hosted after parties, dinners and networking events with partners and of course exploring the city yourself. Which ever you choose, you won’t be bored!
