After months of staring at a blinking snowman in Winter ‘17, Salesforce users are now looking forward to the warm breezes of the Salesforce Spring ‘17 release. In addition to its rainbow and joyful colors, here are our top-10 new features:
#10 Utility Bar appears as a fixed footer and gives access to common productivity tools, like Notes, Recent Items, and Lightning Components.
#9 Visualize Account Hierarchies in LEX and offers a bird’s-eye view of the relationships between parent and subsidiary accounts.
#8 Insert Filter Reports via URL Parameters when bookmarking a report to customize how a report is filtered when opened. This prevents users from having to manually edit reports to change filters.
#7 View Dashboards as Other Users in LEX. Dynamic dashboards can now be configured to show data as a specific user, as the logged-in user, or as a Team.
#6 Sales Cloud Einstein Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prioritize leads with predictive lead scoring and intelligent predictions about deals with Opportunity Insights (available at extra cost)
#5 Detect Duplicate Leads, Accounts and Contacts in Lightning Experience (LEX) through a Potential Duplicates component and Merge up to three records at once using a comparison window.
#4 Path for Quotes and Custom Objects to visually display steps in a process, highlight key fields, and provide guidance.
#3 Adding/Editing Multiple Opportunity Products using to a multi-line interface, users can add 50 Products and edit 200 Products simultaneously.
#2 Enhanced Quotes Object now offers Kanban view and allows multiple PDF files to be created and emailed from LEX.
… and our grand favorite addresses the most commonly asked questions: how can I integrate my emails with Salesforce?
#1 Add Gmail/Outlook 365 Emails and Events to Salesforce using Einstein on Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities objects, and track sales activities using the Einstein Analytics tab. The Enhanced Email with Lightning for Gmail also allows users to add rich-text Emails to standard and custom objects (Some services and subscriptions include this feature for an extra cost).
