There’s a lot of wonder and mystique about the NetSuite Web Store. What is it? What does it do? How can it be customized? Is it right for me? Tell me more!

If they sound like the questions you’ve been asking, today’s your lucky day. Let’s lift the veil on the NetSuite Web Store and fill you in on what you need to know.

What Is NetSuite’s Web Store and What Does It Do?

Let’s break it down – at its core, the NetSuite web store is one big, glorious, sleek-looking sales order creation interface – simple. Has your anxiety been relieved for the moment? Good. Let’s continue.

Although the web store’s primary function is to generate sales orders, it also serves a few other functions that are important to note and mustn’t be forgotten if you’re going to get the most out of it.

Firstly, the web store is a great way for ecommerce businesses to share information about their organization and its products to customers, for this reason, it makes for a fantastic marketing tool to reach a larger market than you otherwise would be able to reach. Basically, it’s a ready-made solution to get in touch with your customer base. One of the two main versions of the Web Store has an inbuilt eCommerce Content Management System (CMS), ensuring user-friendliness is prioritized.

In addition to this, it’s important to note that the NetSuite web store is an integrated platform that allows you to display NetSuite Data on a web browser, bringing the backend to the front end.

Is It Customizable?

NetSuite offers a number of SuiteCommerce products that help you fully customize your web store to ensure it’s selling what you want to sell and how you want to sell it (and beautifying your web store in the process). We’ll touch on four products that are essential, but feel free to get in contact with us to find out the others.

Site Builder:

This free web store solution contains a number of basic templates that you can use to get your store up, running and selling. In our experience, the free Site Builder works fantastically for B2B businesses, though B2C businesses may feel slightly hamstrung by the 90’s HTML architecture that the solution is based on. With that said, it’s a great (FREE!) feature and can bring you some fantastic results.

Site Builder – Advanced Customizations:

One step beyond the Site Builder is the Advanced Customizations, which is a paid feature that is applied on top of Site Builder.

The Advanced Customizations feature allows you to install bundles (such as checkout, my account etc.), customize the layout of your web store (instead of being tied to the templates that the free Site Builder offers) as well as add other customizations, like using SSP Apps, Commerce APIs and Tags.

SuiteCommerce Advanced:

SuiteCommerce Advanced is the latest website solution from NetSuite. SuiteCommerce Advanced delivers an ultra-responsive, modern shopping experience for the customer, allowing you to make that sale and boost customer satisfaction. It includes a basic CMS feature that enables you to manage landing pages and other static content.

Site Management Tools (SMT):

Available on SuiteCommerce Advanced only, SMT gives you the power and functionality to manage content such as images, text, HTML, merchandising zone, etc, as well as enabling you to manage landing pages with ease.

With SMT, you are able to preview changes you make before you send them live, across different screen sizes to ensure all your customers are seeing what you want them to see. Along with this, SMT allows you to deploy the changes in real-time or scheduled for a time in the future, and that’s pretty cool.

The NetSuite Web Store is a great option for online retailers looking to take their business to the next level. Be sure to get in contact with us today so that we can put you in touch with our dedicated Web Store integration team in order to come up with the solution that suits your needs.
