On September 7th, HEC alumnus and Big Bang ERP consultant Nicolas Urena and Project Manager Marie-Christine Tellier joined students at HEC Montréal to launch a project leveraging UX (user experience) processes in a business environment. HEC UX professor and co-founder of Tech3Lab, Pierre-Majorique Léger, pioneered this program and allows his students access to Tech3Lab’s technology and facilities for real-world experience.
Pierre-Majorique Léger shares “A unique opportunity for future UX professionals to practice their skills in the context of a real interface evaluation project” about bringing Big Bang ERP in as a partner.
Other partners include: BiogeniQ, Café Liégeois, Chronometriq, ClicSoumission, eValorix, Harris & Wolff, m0851, Mekanic, Pharmacie Benoît Picard & Karl Desjardins, SmartHalo, Société des Casinos du Québec, Technologies OPA, Univalor and WeDo.
In their User Experience Project Realization Masters course, teams of students are tasked to make UX optimizations for actual customers. One of the featured customers is a Big Bang ERP’s client for NetSuite professional services: Floracopeia, US-based online retailer providing the highest quality aromatic treasures and health education, supporting ecological agriculture, and promoting traditional plant-based knowledge.
Students working on the UX case study have three objectives:
- Validate the site speed
- Optimize information hierarchy and presentation
- Ensure the cart is working in the best way possible
We are excited to work with the next generation of developers – before they even join the workforce. Our intention is to help support growth in our community, especially for technical growth, and have high expectations from this talented group. We are excited to share the results with our client when we get them at the end of the semester. The goal of this program is to expose students to the iterative processes and different steps of a UX project in a business context and we are proud to support it.
